QUESTION: What color is the Blue color and does the Black embroidery show If not, what color embroidery would you recommend? by Astrid R 4/7/2012
STAFF ANSWER: If you scroll down on the item page, you will see 4 tabs, starting with the description. If you click on more images, you will see a sample of a blue collar. The same used red as the contrasting thread color. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 4/9/2012
QUESTION: This collar looks perfect for my dog. Is it necessary to purchase the "metal buckle" for an additonal to use with a leash or does it come with an attached D ring for the leash? by None N 9/29/2011
STAFF ANSWER: The collar has a built in D-Ring with both buckle options. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 9/29/2011
STAFF ANSWER: No, it isn't necessary to order the metal buckle. There is a steel D-ring on the collar whether you order one with a plastic or metal buckle. It is black powder coated steel on plastic buckle collars and chrome plated metal on metal buckle collars. by Clint H 9/29/2011
QUESTION: Read on another dog collar site that use of a flea repellant with a reflective dog collar would cancel out the "reflective strip." Any truth to this? by judy b 6/28/2011
ANSWER: Frank has had his collar for about a year. We use Advantix, and the collar still seems to be reflective. Our other dog regularly chews on Frank's collar, and it has held up to that, as well. by C Z 7/17/2011
ANSWER: We have serious flee and tick issues in Southern Maryland. I put my dog's medicine on his back between his shoulder blades. It doesn't get near the collar so there is no problem. I bought two of these collars because my groomer didn't fasten the first one correctly. This is the only collar I would ever consider.

ANSWER: I have two dogs, both wear a reflective collar year round and I use Frontline as a tick and flea repellent on both dogs. I have not paid close attention to whether or not the reflective part of the collar is still quite visible in night light because we aren't out after dark unless on leash. One dog had quite long hair at the mane so his collar is not real visible, the other has shorter hair at the mane and the collar is quite visible, it still has a lot of reflective material on the collar and they have worn them for at least two years. by C S 7/15/2011
ANSWER: I use Advantix 2 spot flea repellant on my dogs and it has had no effect on the reflective strip on the collar. I have three dogs and three reflective collars and none of them shown any effect. by E I 7/15/2011
QUESTION: THE LAST REFLECTIVE DOG COLLAR I BOUGHT WAS KIND OF STIFF, AND SEEMED UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THE DOG. HOW WAS THIS COLLAR
THANKS by None N 3/30/2011
ANSWER: No, this collar is not stiff at all. If used on beagles or other dogs that may go through briars, etc, this collar does fray so have to trim periodically. Also, suggest you use the black thread for the lettering. by T A 4/2/2011
ANSWER: This collar was not stiff at all and my dog hardly noticed she had it on. As with any material, it begins to "soften" as it is worn for a period of time. This collar ai awesome and it is great having my dog's name and my phone number embroidered on it. No more rattling tags attached to her collar... by Timothy P 3/31/2011
ANSWER: I love this collar! My dog doesn't mind it at all, but he also lets me put clothes and shoes on him too. He's a big boy, so the plastic buckle didn't last long. We had to upgrade to the metal buckle for his walks. by Alyssa D 3/30/2011
ANSWER: I bought two of these collars for my Lab and my cattle dog and they were not stiff at all.I got mine in July 9 months ago and they still look brand new and I love them, see my dogs in the dark in the backyard ect LOVE them.
I just got another puppy 3 months old once he gets bigger or as big as he will be I will be getting one for him also.
Hope this helps by Rainey P 3/30/2011
ANSWER: The collar was stiff when new just as all other collars. It softened up with wear it's worn daily which was helped along when my dog got it wet while swimming. I'm very happy with it. In fact I bought two - one with my home phone number, and one with my cell phone number for when we go on vacation. by C O 3/30/2011
ANSWER: I have been pleased with the collar that is reflective. It is not still, but is less pliable than some nonreflective I have had. I did not measure just how big my dog's neck was so some of the embroidering is covered by the sizing buckles. I have a small poodle and would like to see more collars in smaller sizes and not as wide. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. by Betty P 3/30/2011
ANSWER: I love this collar. It's flexible yet strong and very visible for evening walks. I'm very pleased and so is my dog! by Kaleb A 3/30/2011
ANSWER: I bought a small collar for a french bulldog and it is stiffer than a nylon only collar but not uncomfortably. Hope that helps! by Meredith S 3/30/2011
QUESTION: My dog's current collar measures 14" and fits with the right amount of room. It has a regular buckel. I am wondering if I should go with the Small 9-1/2 to 14", or Med, 13 to 18". she is 17 lbs, & 3 yrs, and done growing. Any advice or opinions? by None N 3/22/2011
ANSWER: My gog weighs 19 # - a beagle, full grown. I bought the medium which fits but the plastic sizing clasp is partially covering the embroidered phone number. My dog's previous coller was 13.5 inches long with the clasp. The medium is fine but if I were to buy another I would get the small.
Hope this helps. by Marla J 3/25/2011
ANSWER: My dog is about 9 pounds and I ordered the small for her. It it somewhat big with plenty of room to grow. If your current collar is 14 inches I would probably go with the medium collar. You may have to tighten it since your dog would be at the lower end of the limits but it ought to work. I do like the collar with its reflective coating and the personalized embroidery so that I don't have to worry about tags getting lost from it. Good luck. by Elizabeth P 3/24/2011
ANSWER: I'd recommend the Small. I ordered a Medium collar thinking there might be more "wiggle room", but the collar ended up being too large. As these collars are adjustable, I think it's better to take the smaller one out to its maximum length rather than doing the opposite on the larger one. Hope this helps. by Diane W 3/23/2011
ANSWER: I went with the medium, but there is a lot of overlap. I think maybe I could have gone with the small. My dog's previous collar measured 14". by Susan B 3/23/2011
ANSWER: I would suggest going with a Med. Better to be safe then sorry, plus you might want it to be a little loose. I keep my dogs' collar loose enough to wear they can wiggle out of it if they get hung up on a fence or something. by Kate W 3/22/2011
QUESTION: My dogs have very thin fur on their necks Basenjis and are sensitive to anything that might rub. Do these collars have any rough spots, like where the fabric ends on the inside I like it when they put that on the outside... but sometimes they cover it up with something too. Thanks! by None N 2/19/2011
ANSWER: The fabric does end on the inside on one of the folds over the snap. I doesn't feel terribly rough to me, but if you're dogs are super sensitive, might be an issue. They are nice collars. The personalized stitching is solid and the reflective nature is very good. by Rebecca S 3/1/2011
ANSWER: There are ends of fabric that would rub their neck. If it helps, the ends are very smooth. by Timothy P 2/21/2011
