Nancy M:I did have to add a layer of fuzzy weather stripping around the edge and trim it enough to still let the door swing. It still works well enough. A small dog can push it open; the pug who later came to live with us is a little afraid of it, but he will push it open when he wants to badly enough. Since it is stiff, I was afraid one of the dogs would get caught in it but this has never happened and the other dogs are happy with it. It is still better than the floppy doors that don't stay put. (Plus the dog that ate the floppy door couldn't eat through this!)Jul 26, 2013
Shelby Staff:The Heavy Duty Dog door when installed properly is designed for Minnesota's six months of winter/wind extreme weather conditions. Some customers have even used cats with this door.Aug 2, 2013
