dogIDs Store asked: Why did you choose this?
sally asked:
is the information lightly laser etched or deeply embossed?

Chuck BStaff:
We at dogIDs use a high power fiber laser to engrave our tags which actually vaporizes and removes the metal so it is actually engraving instead of marking or laser bonding. This allows us to engrave deeply into the metal with pristine detail and a nice contrasting engrave color...Excellent looks with a true engrave that will NEVER wear off of your dog's tag. Engraving guaranteed for life...PERIOD! Chuck B. Staff

I got them Last week. It's awesome, I would say the printing is "DEEP".
They do offer a nice guarantee. I guess they have to. I've been buying from DogId's for YEARS.
If you need anymore information, just ask me. (if you are on FB, then find me)
I also ordered 2 new collars. One for each Labrador. It's time for a new collar for my babies. :-)

I bought these first in 2011 and the writing is still visible on both sides. They are etched in - but I hesitate to call it "deeply" since the thickness is limited somewhat by the thickness of the metal and size of the letters. But two years of daily wear and rugged play and the writing is still legible. I'm glad I bought them and have bought more since for other dogs.

I'm not that familiar with the two techniques, but if I had to guess, I'd say our dog tag is lightly laser etched.

(ive had the tags from Petco & Petsmart and the lettering rubs after after 6 months...)

courtney z asked:
Hi! Do you think this size dog tag is appropriate for a puppy? The pup is a lab/golden mix and will be about 10 weeks old when I get him. I wonder if this tag would be too big for him to wear right away. Thanks!

Ryan W:
It might be a little big for a pup. I bought mine for a Adult Golden that is 80 pounds.

I think so - it isn't heavy or too overly large. And your pup will grow into it!
