All of our collars, unless otherwise noted on the collar's page, are measured to the center hole for a TRUE neck size. Simply measure your dog’s neck at the base for the proper collar size. There should always be enough room to slip one finger between your pet’s neck and the collar, so do this as you determine your dog’s neck size. The measurement of your dog’s neck is the size of the collar it needs.
You don't buy pants for yourself that are a certain measurement and add or subtract several inches to get your true pants measurement, right? Why should you do that for your dog? We like to keep it simple and logical here at Dog IDs, Measure your dog's neck and order that size collar. That's the way it should be!
Simply measure your dog’s neck at the base for the proper collar size. There should always be enough room between the pet’s neck and the collar to slip one finger between them comfortably.
Here are a few different methods for measuring your dog's neck:
Method 1) Measure your dog's neck with a sewing tape while keeping two fingers between his skin and the tape.
Method 2) Wrap a string around your dogs neck with two fingers between his skin and the string. Mark the string and then measure the length of it.
Method 3) Remove your dog's current collar and stretch it out flat. Then measure from the center of the buckle to the current sizing hole being used.

Pretty and flexible, probably strong, made in US
Within an hour of putting the collar on my dog and her going outside, I saw the first threads coming loose and are still coming loose. Also, if I were going to have my dog out on a leash, I would want to switch to a collar that has grommets as my feeling is that by pulling/putting a lot of pressure on it when it is just through the weave would allow it to come open.
