Producing Custom Engraved Dog Tags and Personalized Dog Collars is Our Specialty.
We use the latest fiber laser technology to engrave our tags. Many pet tag manufacturers use lower power CO2 laser engravers that do not actually engrave the metal but rather mark or laser bond on the metal. This type of laser marking does leave a clean dark mark but will eventually be illegible as the metal from the tag wears down. We at dogIDs use a high power fiber laser to engrave our tags which actually vaporizes and removes the metal so it is actually engraving instead of marking or laser bonding. This allows us to engrave deeply into the metal with pristine detail and a nice contrasting engrave color...Excellent looks with a true engrave that will NEVER wear off of your dog's tag. Engraving guaranteed for life...PERIOD!
All of our collars, unless otherwise noted on the collar's page, are measured to the center hole for a TRUE neck size. Simply measure your dog’s neck at the base for the proper collar size. There should always be enough room to slip one finger between your pet’s neck and the collar, so do this as you determine your dog’s neck size. The measurement of your dog’s neck is the size of the collar it needs.
You don't buy pants for yourself that are a certain measurement and add or subtract several inches to get your true pants measurement, right? Why should you do that for your dog? We like to keep it simple and logical here at Dog IDs, Measure your dog's neck and order that size collar. That's the way it should be!
Simply measure your dog’s neck at the base for the proper collar size. There should always be enough room between the pet’s neck and the collar to slip one finger between them comfortably.
Here are a few different methods for measuring your dog's neck:
Method 1) Measure your dog's neck with a sewing tape while keeping two fingers between his skin and the tape.
Method 2) Wrap a string around your dogs neck with two fingers between his skin and the string. Mark the string and then measure the length of it.
Method 3) Remove your dog's current collar and stretch it out flat. Then measure from the center of the buckle to the current sizing hole being used.

A D:You should choose the 18" collar, as the sizing is based on the size of the dog's neck. That way the collar will buckle on the middle hole and the nameplate will sit in the right spot. You can either go with the 3/4" width or 1" width, depending the girth of your dog's neck.Oct 19, 2012
Chuck BStaff:If your dog's neck measurement is 18 inches with sewing tape or string, I would recommend size 18. There are 5 holes in the strap, so the collar will fit from 16-20 inch neck size. Chuck B. StaffOct 11, 2012
