Anne B: We really liked the quality of this collar including the brass name plate and the center brass ring to hook the leash for our 70 lb. black lab. When the name plate looks a bit dull I just use some brass polish and it is good as new.Mar 27, 2012

Laurie R: I wanted an ID tag less likely to come off the collar and get lost. I prefer leather over nylon as it last longer and tends not to get smelly.Feb 13, 2012
Christina H: Durable and don't have to replace brass tag unlike the ones from machines in pet superstores that always wear out.Feb 13, 2012

Arnoldo P asked:I got a Labrador Retriver , he is a puppy , he is only 2 months and 1 week old, I want to buy thisitem for him , But I want to know wish size is good for him also, it it will be usefull when is get older, thanks!Apr 21, 2011
Kathy S:Hi Arnoldo, This collar is really great. If you want it to grow with your dog I would get the largest size that will fit him on the first hole. If you have to you can put a rubber band to hold the end of the collar down until he reaches his full growth. This collar is everything it looks and says it is. I would recommend DogIDs to anyone wanting a quality product. Wishing you the best, Kathy StoneMay 1, 2011
Maureen J:It is a beautiful, well made collar, but I doubt you can find any collar that will fit a dog from 2 months of age to adult. There is just too much growing to be done. I suggest you get one about 1.5 inches bigger than his neck now and then get him one that will fit him from age 1 year on. The smaller collar can be used as an ID for his doggy daycare bag!May 1, 2011
brian b:I would go with the 3/4" x 12" for your lab pup, but honesty i wouldnt go this route for another few months, due to him going to grow so much in size i would buy one of the smaller types for now and this one for later and buy it in the 1" x 16" for later. But as to the quality of this collar, it is very good well worth the money for it.May 1, 2011
Esther P:I would go with whatever the sizing guide says, our boxer was about 4 months old when we got him the 18inch collar. It fits a little loose right now, but I'm pretty sure he'll grow into it. Keep in mind that when your Lab starts teething you don't want to have all that slack for him to chew on.May 2, 2011
PHILIP F:A lab puppy will need a bigger collar when he gets older. The collar you are considering is great - the fact that the name plate is on the collar itself and not hanging makes it quiet too. See the size chart guide, you wont be disappointed.May 2, 2011
Michael C:The center ring for the collar is intended for working/hunting dogs so that if their collar gets snagged on a tree limb or wire somewhere that they will not choke themselves. They should be able to wiggle out of it if that is the case.Mar 5, 2011
Tessa H:I thought the same thing when I purchased the collar but then realized it was great because I could use that for his leash instead of using the buckle part. I use the ring all the time.Mar 6, 2011
Daniel B:we have aSpringer and he is around 42 lbs. he has a 14 inch collar.. I would recommend measuring the length of current collar to the hole that you use.. I would send this information to the company, they will help size it if you have questions.. We ordered the wrong size- we sent back for restocking fee and then got the right size by measuring current collar. Should have read the instructions before ordering. I really love the collar, very pleased with quality of product!Jul 15, 2011
Emily P asked:if I only choose to put text on the first two lines, will the text be larger to compensate for all the extra space below? or will the two lines "hover" over the empty space below?Feb 3, 2012
Rachel H:If you only do the first two lines, we increase the size of the font to take up most of the engraving area on the tag. There won't be empty space below. Rachel-StaffFeb 6, 2012
April S:My lab doesn't chew on anything so I don't know. It is pretty thick and sturdy though. I bought the 14 inch and I personally wish I would have bought a size smaller. I think if she were a chewer then she'd certainly be able to get to it if she tried.Aug 26, 2011
A shopper asked:You asked: I have a cocker spaniel, he is a medium size dog, adult, 4 years old. He weights 40 pounds, What size would you recommend? I'm sorry I forgot to ask, Do you guys ship to APO AE? and How long does it takes? Thank you.Jul 5, 2011
Chuck BStaff:Leather, DuraSoft and DuraFlect Collar Sizing Instructions To determine the correct size leather, DuraSoft or DuraFlect collar for your dog, use one of the following procedures: Measure your dog's neck with a sewing tape while keeping two fingers between his skin and the tape. OR... Wrap a string around your dogs neck with two fingers between his skin and the string. Then measure the length of the string. OR... Remove your dog's current collar and stretch it out flat. Then measure from the center of the buckle to the current sizing hole being used. Please follow these instructions. You may also view the instructions under the HELP MENU under product Installation and Sizing Instructions. We do ship to APOs, typically 10-15 days to APO addresses. Chuck B. StaffJul 6, 2011
Shane K:Measure neck girth and you will know! then buy 3 or 4 inches larger since there are multiple notches( as with any collar) that you can adjust as he grows. After a year his puppy collar will strangle him even at last notch, so you will have to buy another. However, this second time around buy only one or two inches larger than neck girth since he won't grow much more (but maybe get fatter if isn't exercised/fed right). It's a great collar.Jun 3, 2011
Megan T:Are you referring to the brass name tag or the personalized name plate riveted on? We sell a round brass tag and one that is the shape of a dog bone, both come in small and large. The large dog bone shape is 1 1/4in by 3/4 in and the small dog bone shape is 1 in by 1/2 in. The riveted collar nameplate is around 2 inches, riveted onto the collar. Let me know if you have any more questions! megan@dogids.comApr 22, 2011
