Each day, we focus on providing high quality, personalized dog products and helpful blog posts to help you and your pet.
We believe this could very well be the technology of the future when it comes to dog ID tags. These slide on dog ID tags with a PetHub Link QR code offer you the ability to keep up to date information on your dog. As you know it can be a huge problem if your information on your dogs collar is outdated. This technology solves this problem by offering you a profile page that you can update with any information you'd like (New address, New Number, Alternative Contacts, Medical info, ect..) any time via the internet.
When your QR Code Pet ID Tag arrives it includes a unique web address and QR code that can be scanned with any Smartphone (such as Apple iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, and others).
Here's how it works: someone finds your pet. They try the phone number and you're not answering. They scan the collar with their phone or type in the web address. What shows-up are any details you've chosen to enter about your pet, including other emergency contacts (spouse, neighbor, friend, vet, pet sitter, doggie daycare, etc.), important medications, dietary needs, and anything else you think someone rescuing your pup or kitty needs to know.
Here's why it's cool: because the QR code and web address are both pointing to a free PetHub Link profile about your pet on PetHub.com, you can change important details (contacts, medications, etc.) as often as you like without requiring the physical tag to be updated! (Yes.. in case you're wondering.. that is cool. Nay, SUPER cool!) Also, when someone scans your pet's QR code, you will be notified via email and if they have GPS enabled on their smartphone, you will receive a GPS location map of where the scan occurred. Very, very cool!
Remember, the data stored about your pet on PetHub.com that these collars point to is free (no weird hidden costs, no sign-up fees, no annual fees for the basic storage and linking to your PetHub Link collar or tag).
*The collar must have one strap available without a buckle or hardware that will interfere with the tag sliding on. Simply insert the collar strap into one hole, run it behind the tag and out the other hole. It's that easy to install.
Large 2" x 1-1/4" tag fits collars 1" wide or less and 1/4" thick or less
Small 1-3/4" x 7/8" tag fits collars 3/4" wide or less and 1/8" thick or less
I love this product. It gives me tremendous piece of mind to know how much easier it would be to find me in the event my dog is lost. I love the design too. My dog doesn't do well with dangling tags. I had some initial set up problems but your support staff addressed it quickly and professionally. It turns out the problem was with the qr app I was using. I downloaded a different qr reader and now it works great! I've been showing every dog owner I know! I now have the coolest dog on the block!
Bright white, so it's easy to see on the collar. We live in a college town and our beagle has a nose of her own, so I figured if she wonders off its likely that someone with QR knowledge will find her and use this tag. It can't hurt to have it
The service is free, but they want you to pay for upgraded service online. Also, dog collars are made to follow the curve of the neck and this tag is backwards, it bends the collar the wrong way. Not a huge deal.
