If function is your top priority, our Reflective ScruffTag Personalized Dog Collars are the perfect collar for you!

This personalized dog collar is perfect for any medium to large breed dog no matter their lifestyle. The personalized nameplate and reflective strip on the collar work together to keep your dog safe during evening walks and playtime at the park.

Collar Durability
The Reflective ScruffTag Dog Collar is made out of durable BioThane poly coated nylon webbing material in 8 bright colors. Biothane is extremely tough and resistant to the elements. It won’t crack in the cold or melt in the heat. You won’t have to worry about mud, snow or lake time with this waterproof and smell resistant collar. Each collar also comes with stainless steel hardware that is 100% corrosion proof.

Reflective Strip = Safety
Does your dog like to play outside in the evening or take early morning walks? If they do, chances are you’ve wondered how safe they are out in the dark. These collars comes with a 3M Scotchlite Reflective strip welded into the collar, which will help your dog get noticed by passersby and oncoming traffic.

The ScruffTag Collar Design
This collar is part of dogIDs trademarked ScruffTag Dog Collar line. The ScruffTag is a built-in nameplate that sits on the “scruff” of your dog’s neck while they wear their collar. The personalized plate is easy to read when standing above and behind the dog – a much safer option than digging under the dog’s neck for their information.

Each nameplate can be engraved with up to 4 lines of personalized information in your choice of 13 fonts. Every dogIDs tag is engraved with a high power fiber commercial engraving to create a deep, clean design that won’t wear off, no matter how much trouble your dog gets into. We’re so confident in our engraving quality, we guarantee it for the life of your pet.

What if you move or want to change the engraving info on the tag for other reasons down the road? Just mail it to us and we'll install a new name plate for $5 plus shipping and handling!

A shopper asked: My dog's neck measures in between sizes at 17. Should I get a collar sized 16 or 18? Oct 18, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Rachel M: Either way. I ordered according to the website's directions and my dogs' collars are on a notch in the middle. So, not using first or last whole. I think you will be ok if you follow their recommendation. Nov 15, 2012

Chuck BStaff: If the dog is mature, I would recommend going down to size 16. This collar has 5 holes in the strap, with the collar size being the center hole, so the size 16 inch collar would accommodate from size 14-18 inch neck sizes. Chuck B. Staff Oct 24, 2012

Lindsey H asked: I'm curious if I would be able to rivet other tags on such as rabies and county tags. Any input if it can be done or if the collar would rip from a hole being punched? Nov 25, 2012

Michael m: The plastic is pretty sturdy, but I haven't tested it for what you're planning to do. As you can see in the picture, It's built with rivets. So that should be an indication. It's a good, sturdy, quality collar. Nov 26, 2012

nancy f: I think it'd work but why not attach them to the ring? The collar is so light and flexible and has woven nylon inside the plastic to keep it from ripping. That might make riveting tags work better... Nov 25, 2012

Jennifer A: I attached our tags to the loop for a leash to be attached. You might also be able to attach tags to the buckle. Nov 25, 2012

A shopper asked: does the measurement for the neck use the first or last hole on the collar? Nov 14, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Rachel M: I ordered two of these. On both dogs they are on the second to last hole, meaning the second tightest. So I do have room to go either way.
I love these collars. The first set I ordered lasted for two years with almost no remarkable signs of wear. I only ordered new ones when I changed my phone number. And my dogs are Huskies that run, play, wrestle, and generally wear things out!

Chuck BStaff: There are 5 holes in the strap and we measure the size to the center hole. The holes are an inch apart. So a size 16 inch collar would fit a 14 inch neck on the first hole, 16 on the center and 18 inch on the last hole. Chuck B. Staff Nov 14, 2012

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael m: I'd get the 18 inch collar. It's likely to fit. But if it's too big you can poke a new hole and cut the excess. If you get the 16 inch and it's too small, there's little you can do. Oct 19, 2012

howard P: i would get the biggest collar as i did i have a 10 month old red bone coonhound 110 lbs i have cut and sized twice the bigger the better Oct 18, 2012

Hilirie J asked: Hi - We are picking up a puppy next weekend and looking to get him a durable collar. What size is recommended for a wire-haired pointing griffon puppy at 9-10 weeks? Nov 18, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chuck BStaff: The first thing to do is measure your new puppies neck size, so we know where to start with a size.
As far as durable collars, I recommend our soft grip collars as they come in a variety of sizes and can take a lot of punishment and are maintenance free. Some customers also consider Mendota puppy collar to start, then move to a more expensive collar as the dog gets closer to maturity. The reflecive collars are also durable, but only come in the 1 inch width, which is often a bit too bulky for a puppy.

Hilirie J: We will not be meeting the puppy until we pick him up so we are unable to measure his neck. If we get a size we think will work and it doesn't fit are we able to return it? Nov 18, 2014
Chuck BStaff: Hilirie, Can you estimate his weight at 9 weeks and what his expected adult weight would be? Then we can make an estimate. If the collar has a rivet on plate we can do a return.

our pup is black so getting the neon yellow makes him really easy to spot. Living in New England it gets dark, quick, so having the reflective part of the collar for night time walks is real nice. Very durable. And I love the fact his info is built into the more "jingles" of regular info tags!

These engraved collars are great because you don't have to worry about the dangling tag falling off, it doesn't make noise like normal tag collars and it doesn't slap against the dog when running! We are very happy with our purchase and have received many compliments.
The reflective bit isn't very reflective. We tested these at night at the dog park and couldn't see a thing. It is probably meant for very short distances, maybe 10 feet. Still a good product.
