Carolin D: Hi, Yes, it's exactly 1 inch in diameter (perfect for a small dog - ours is 11 pound jackchi). I think the tag looks great (maybe not quite as shiny as on the pic, but I like it less shiny way), but I think it jingles a little louder than the silver tags. I would recommend it and buy it again.
