dogIDs Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Sue C asked:
Is this leash strong for large dogs who are crazy and pull or lunge? I'd like to use it for walking dogs at a shelter. Can it be easily wiped off with hand sanitizer, etc., without ruining it?

We have had our soft grip snap leash since last March. It's great. The snap does it's job easily. Our dog is young and weighs about 50 lbs. He has a lot of strength and energy. The leash is working great for us. It's strong and wraps around my hand easily without any cutting into my flesh. I love it and Charlie does too as when he sees me go for it, he's ready.

Hi Sue. The leash is strong, light, flexible, impervious to the normal elements, comfortable to hold, and easily cleaned by wiping. For the lower half of the dog power range it is plenty strong. For the biggest, most powerful dogs there are, and then throw in crazy; you would probably need the most heavy duty rig you can find. There are quite a few disadvantages to rigs that strong when using it on smaller dogs. I really like this leash, but you may need more than one leash for the full spectrum of dog power and attitude.

A shopper asked:
My young weim just took 3 chomps out of her new leash (Hamilton brand) and it was in two pieces! Yet I want something soft and lightweight because I wear it across my shoulders at the off leash dog parks and beaches! She's docile and not a puller. Would this one fit the bill??

The soft grip is very durable, but unfortunately nothing is chew proof other than a chain leash. The leash would be heavier than a nylon webbing leash. Chuck B. Staff

I like to wrap the leash 1-2 times around my hand when running. Does it wrap well/not hurt/etc?

I like the feel of the soft grip. I bunch it up in my hand and it is thin and doesn't dig into my hand like regular leashes. it was a good purchase for me.

I got the 6' leash so that I could take up the length to whatever I needed in the manner you described. The material the leash is made from is flat and pliable very much like a very flexible belt. It is not at all stiff or scratchy. It can be wrapped into circles around itself in the hand and it has no tendancy to spring back out. The flat flexy material, not rubbery, spreads the pull evenly over a wide area in the hand, contributing to comfort during a pull. I would say that it is very comfortable in my hand.

My husband and I really like the leash and so does our dog Charlie. My husband wraps the leash around his hand and it must be comfortable as I haven't heard a complaint. We both like the ease of snapping the leash onto Charlie's collar. I love the leash. It's soft, strong and just the right length.
