S G: Sturdy good-looking leash that wouldn't hurt my hands. Works wonderfullyMay 16, 2011
Sue C asked:Is this leash strong for large dogs who are crazy and pull or lunge? I'd like to use it for walking dogs at a shelter. Can it be easily wiped off with hand sanitizer, etc., without ruining it?May 15, 2012
Sally N:We have had our soft grip snap leash since last March. It's great. The snap does it's job easily. Our dog is young and weighs about 50 lbs. He has a lot of strength and energy. The leash is working great for us. It's strong and wraps around my hand easily without any cutting into my flesh. I love it and Charlie does too as when he sees me go for it, he's ready.May 17, 2012
Howard P:Hi Sue. The leash is strong, light, flexible, impervious to the normal elements, comfortable to hold, and easily cleaned by wiping. For the lower half of the dog power range it is plenty strong. For the biggest, most powerful dogs there are, and then throw in crazy; you would probably need the most heavy duty rig you can find. There are quite a few disadvantages to rigs that strong when using it on smaller dogs. I really like this leash, but you may need more than one leash for the full spectrum of dog power and attitude.May 17, 2012
Maryel F:Once it has time to "break in," this quality leash is very comfortable in the hand, in both warm and cold temperatures. That is, when brand new, the leash is stiff, but softens with use. My two large dogs are not strong"pullers" so I can't comment whether the leash would ever stretch over years of use. I can say, however, that the odd time one of the dogs does pull while we're at the dog park, the leash does not "give" or stretch with the pressure. I doubt that it ever will.Jul 15, 2013
Howard P:It forms around things easily and has a pliable feel. It has little memory, as in loops fall out of your hand back to straight and does not retain the curves. It stretches very little, about like a leather belt would. It is not at all springy, but still soft and easily forms comfortable loops in the hand.Jul 15, 2013
Lindsay P:I would say that this leash is not stretchy and provides very little, if any give. The rubber is very thick. This is my favorite leash I own. It is never dirty and always looks and feels nice. It is a heavy duty leash.Jul 15, 2013
Laura W:This leash is not stretchy. I really like this leash because it is very strong and durable. My dog always plays with the leash and puts it in her mouth so the leash can get very dirty. This leash is very easy to clean.Jul 15, 2013
Ruth L:Our boys go wild about squirrels, and if there were any possibility of stretching it would have happened by now. So, no give has been noted by us. These were an excellent buy as our doodles love the water!Jul 16, 2013
Shelby Staff:We don't sell them on the site personalized, but we can put a rivet-on plate on these leashes as a specialized order. To do a custom order, call 800-720-8247 and speak with Chuck.Oct 21, 2013
Howard P:I got the 6' leash so that I could take up the length to whatever I needed in the manner you described. The material the leash is made from is flat and pliable very much like a very flexible belt. It is not at all stiff or scratchy. It can be wrapped into circles around itself in the hand and it has no tendancy to spring back out. The flat flexy material, not rubbery, spreads the pull evenly over a wide area in the hand, contributing to comfort during a pull. I would say that it is very comfortable in my hand.Apr 17, 2012
Sally N:My husband and I really like the leash and so does our dog Charlie. My husband wraps the leash around his hand and it must be comfortable as I haven't heard a complaint. We both like the ease of snapping the leash onto Charlie's collar. I love the leash. It's soft, strong and just the right length.Apr 17, 2012
