I ordered several "Bone with Plaid" tags as Christmas gifts and the colour is more muted than is shown on the website. Nevertheless, I really like the way they look--I am not disappointed. I would point out that the colour as I see it online could be the result of the settings on my monitor.
I really like the quality of the tag. It's nicely finished and looks very classy. Further, I suggest that a bold font be chosen as it can be seen more easily on the 1-inch tags. I will eventually order these tags for my own dogs.

We got the Christmas Dots for our Lab in the square design and the color is exactly as pictured. We' re very pleased. We also use the Rubit dog tag clips to move her tags around to her various collars. If your pet has a "collar wardrobe", it makes it so easy to change their ID between collars. Hope this helps.

I just got this same tag - not sure what color you are talking about. The font on mine is in black and the color on the tag looks just like the picture (black, red and tan). It looks great on my dog!

Some of the specific fonts are meant to look like hand writing (like the one in this picture) It is not written in sharpie. If you want a more "computerized font" I would choose a different font than in this picture.

It's a typed font. You can choose from several. Both of my dogs have been wearing these tags for almost a year now and they look just as bright and fresh as when we first got them.

Nope... it is printed in a font that looks like a sharpie, but definitely printed. You can also pick a different font if you wish, but I thought this one was really cute. The tag is fabulous. I love mine.... well, my dog's. :)

Yes, there is a hard plastic/resin coating on the front. My dog has been wearing his tag for a couple of weeks now and even though we take daily walks on a dirt path, there is no dirt or grime gathering along the silver edging or anywhere else on the tag.

The names showing (Cocoa, Rufus, Abby, etc.) are examples of the different fonts (styles of printing) available. So if you like the way the 'Abby' font looks, then choose that one. Then in the 'name' box you put your dogs name. You'll end up with your own dog's name on the tag, but in the same style as the font that you pick.
