QUESTION: If I choose to just put one line of text on the front, i.e., just my dog's name, will the word be centered and/or enlarged? by Katie M 10/30/2011 STAFF ANSWER: Yes, the fewer the lines the larger the text will be. We also center the text. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 10/31/2011 QUESTION: Are these tags as deeply engraved as stated? by None N 9/15/2011 STAFF ANSWER: Top Quality Custom Engraved Dog ID Tags and Personalized Collars... We only use top quality engraving materials and cutting edge laser engraving equipment to ensure our dog ID tags and nameplates are produced in a uniform manner with top-notch appearance and life-long readability. Since we only use solid brass, stainless steel, gold plated brass and nickel plated brass materials, you can be assured that your custom laser engraved dog ID tags or nameplate collars will last for years without peeling, fading, discoloring or causing skin irritations like some other plated metals can.
We use the latest fiber laser technology to engrave our tags. Many pet tag manufacturers use lower power CO2 laser engravers that do not actually engrave the metal but rather mark or laser bond on the metal. This type of laser marking does leave a clean dark mark but will eventually be illegible as the metal from the tag wears down. We at dogIDs use a high power fiber laser to engrave our tags which actually vaporizes and removes the metal so it is actually engraving instead of marking or laser bonding. This allows us to engrave deeply into the metal with pristine detail and a nice contrasting engrave color...Excellent looks with a true engrave that will NEVER wear off of your dog's tag. Engraving guaranteed for life... Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 9/22/2011 QUESTION: what is the actual size of the tag. Good choice for a 25-30 lb. size dog? by None N 4/28/2011 ANSWER: It's about 1.25" long. My dog is 45-50 lbs and it's perfect for her. I think it'd be fine for a 25-30 lb dog. by J M 5/1/2011 STAFF ANSWER: It's 1 1/2 in by 1 3/4 I believe. It should be fine for the size of dog you are describing. Another great option for that type of dog are our name plate collars which have the tag built into the collar. We have them in leather, braided style and soft grip. The link below will give you more information on these collars!

Chuck B - Staff by Chuck B 3/22/2011 QUESTION: Hi,
I'm thinking of buying this tag because the engraving wore off my dog's current one. Can anyone who's bought this let me know if the engraving is holding up or does it wear off this one as well.
Thanks! by Jim K 11/12/2010 ANSWER: We bought this tag over a year ago and engraved both sides of the tag. Our dog romps through the woods and swims in lakes, streams, rivers on a daily basis while wearing his and it has held up well. Probably better on the inside side, but you can still read both just fine. As far as dogIDs goes- we have been very happy with the service and speedy delivery of the numerous products we have bought. Hope that helps! by C A 11/15/2010 ANSWER: Thanks so much Tiana. I'll make a note of ordering the tag silencer as well so I can get some sleep :- by Jim K 11/12/2010 ANSWER: Hi there, I ordered two of them about 3 months ago. They seem to be holding up really well. I inspect them often just to be sure that it is still legible and it is. I think its because the etching is a bit thicker than you get at the store. The only thing I can tell you is that you want to buy the tag silencer if you put it on a normal collar or you will be up all night. I love that you have 4 lines on each side. I have the dog info and contact numbers on one side, and the other I have their microchip information. by Tiana V 11/12/2010 Customers Also Purchased... Recently Viewed | |
