Genuine Leather Dog Collars

High Quality, Handcrafted, and Durable

For many, our personalized leather dog collars are a symbol of luxury, durability and class. They are handcrafted in the USA with top-of-the-line materials, backed by a lifetime guarantee and actually get better with age as they create their own “signature” based on use and wear. These collars are a great choice whether you’re looking for a classic and elegant look or love the rustic qualities that leather can take on over time.

We have leather collars available for dogs of all sizes, breeds and fur types. Explore our collection and find the one that fits your pup’s lifestyle.

Which type of leather is best?

At dogIDs, we offer three leather types including English Bridle, Padded and Italian. We want to help you choose the right type for you and your dog’s lifestyle - check out the information below to learn more about each.

English Bridle

English Bridle leather collars are known for their classic look and durability. They are made from heavy, high-quality steer hide, drum dyed for a rich color and tanned using a formula that produces a silky-smooth finish. They are a bit stiff when new, but soften and conform to your dog as they are broken in. These dog collars can last a lifetime when cared for properly and certainly are the classiest on the market. We recommend this type of collar for medium to large breeds.

Rolled Leather Collars for Long-Haired Dogs

We understand the frustration with collars that flatten or mat long fur types. That’s why we offer a rolled English bridle leather dog collar. It will prevent any matting or tangles, and look good doing it! It is sealed with resin and stitched with nylon to ensure it withstands any activity. It’s also available in a variety of sizes to fit a variety of breeds.

Leather ScruffTag Dog Collars

ScruffTag collars are our specialty here at dogIDs, and we have a leather version as well! This collar features an engraved nameplate that sits on the back of the dog’s neck. Pet parents love the Leather ScruffTag dog collar because it’s easy to see their dog’s information and a dangling tag is no longer required. That means less noise and more safety.

Our personalized padded leather dog collars are a great option if your dog has short fur or sensitive skin. They have an outer layer of traditional bridle leather and an inner layer of softer, more pliable padding. These collars are durable and customizable - the inner layer is available in a variety of colors.

Handmade Collars by Artisan

Love padded collars but want a little more detail? The handmade collars crafted by our artisan partner, Kaydi, offer beautiful options. Rivets, rhinestones, and shotgun shell conchos adorn the premium water buffalo leather dog collar. The padding colors include pink, orange, blue, green and even camouflage. They are available in multiple sizes to fit all breeds.

The personalized Designer Italian Leather dog collar is durable, water resistant, soft to the touch and beautiful. Available in nine vibrant colors and a number of sizes and widths, this collection is the perfect mix of durability and style. We recommend this pliable collar for small dog breeds as it is supple and sizes down well for little necks.

How Do I Care for Leather Collars?

These collars are beautiful, but do need a little extra care. For a quick clean up, use a damp sponge. For a better clean, we recommend cleaning with a rag and saddle soap (or other leather cleaner) followed by a conditioner. We offer leather conditioner and cleaner on our website.

Some pet parents recommend using hot water for the best results. Let the collar air dry, then buff with a clean cloth. Finally, use another soft, clean cloth to apply the conditioner and buff it one last time.

Take care of your dog’s collar by limiting exposure to water. They’re water resistant but aren’t meant to be submerged often. If you’re looking for a good waterproof collar that looks and feels similar to leather, check out our waterproof dog collar category.
