Great for dogs with flat coats that make strangling sounds when they pull. I'm an adoption counselor for our local Humane Society/SPCA and most of the strays that find themselves with us haven't much leash experience yet. This lead is easy to get on and off which is helpful in the case of a dog who is "head shy." It prevents the dog from backing out if the dog panics.

I purchased a lead like this at an agility trial, and have been nothing short of thrilled with the design! It is a step up from a standard slip lead, but still equally easy to take on and off (by the handler). I use it for agility trials, where we consistently have to take the dogs on and off lead. The quality is incredibly high as well! Can't wait for my other two pups to get their new leads!

Rosie is a big Airedale with overwhelming exuberance. The training collar is difficult to put one and I hope this will be easier to use.

how do I put it on my dog properly?

BEST ANSWER: The dog's neck goes through the front loop and then when they pull it tightens on either side.
If you follow this link and look at that image of the leash, the dog's neck goes through the solid tan part. http://www.dogids.com/uploaded/public/50bd7c2c92e574.13924364.jpg

sturdy and great quality
wish it had instructions even if just online. I used once before a year or so ago and had to remember how to put it on the dog. A quick picture would have been nice

Love these...colorful, easy to handle for humans, sturdy, strong and just the right amount of "reminder" to the dog not to pull. Easy on and off -- we love them because we don't have to fuss with hooking to their collars. We live near the ocean and leads that have a lot of metal get rusty quickly. We keep a supply on hand in case we misplace one, or a friend sees how wonderful they are and wants one for their dog (it's happened more than once!)
We have gone through many over the years with our labs. I says "gone through" because we live near the ocean and while there is very little metal on them (which is why we buy them) on occasion, salt rusts one of the links. While we can't fix the link, we can still use the lead for training or hanging baskets! The leashes never give up!

Made from MFP anchor line, light and unusually strong. Design and fabrication are well suited for leading large dogs (i.e. 130+ lbs). Virtually no chance of dog slipping from a collar; holding a close lead reduces handler's fatigue during training. Keeps dog's attention without choking. Prevents chafing outer hairs or undercoat.
Despite its lightweight and strength, a large dog with a scissor bite can part a lead with ease if the handler is distracted. I've bought several for this reasongood thing they're inexpensive!

Good to have on hand for running after your dog if they slip out the door, since you can slip over their head quickly. Also good for getting them into walk in showers for baths.
You can also still use a traditional leash. This is more humane for training than a choke chain collar.

this lead is the best. I may buy anyone soon. Took me forever to find another one. I bought one years ago at a retail pet boutique in Key West.
No cons

I love how easy it is to use. It's reliable and works well.
I wish it had a better handle or a grip. The rope can be rough when you're pup is first leash training.

Easy to use. Replaces a very similar collar/leash that was worn out after 7 years. Love this type of leash.
Personally can't think of one.

Some people can't figure out how to use it correctly.
