A check cord is an invaluable tool for teaching your dog various retrieving and off-leash behaviors while allowing you as the handler the opportunity for control at any time. Often used for hunting situations, this check cord leash is a visible orange and will not disappear into the brush. The sturdy yet soft braided polypropylene material is ideal for a leash that is gentle in hand. It’s UV colorfast, will float in water and can handle anything nature (or your dog) can put it through. The solid brass swivel snap is anti-corrosive and the cord is completed with classic looking tanned leather detailing.

We have a lab who loves to swim.... in one direction. To keep her from going too far, we like having a floating rope that you can see so we can gently guide her back or swim out to her if needed.

do any of your check cord leashes have a small clip for smaller dogs?

BEST ANSWER: The 3/8 inch width check cords come with a small clasp works well for small-medium sized dogs. Depending on how small your dog is, it should work. I would use the 3/8 inch width + clip for dogs that are 20+ pounds. If your dog is smaller than that, there is the option to have a custom check cord made in 1/8 inch width and it will have an even smaller clasp.
