The Personalized Stainless Steel "Not So Fast" Dog Bowl is the first stainless steel slow feed dog bowl designed to help dogs slow down when they eat.

Slow Down Your Fast Eater

This bowl is designed with a raised inner section. Having the food in a canal around the outside edge of the bowl causes dogs to eat slower because it is not as easy for them to reach the food. This aids in their digestion to prevent choking, vomiting, gastrointestinal issues and bloating. Gulping down food too quickly and swallowing air could be potentially life threatening.

Looking for a matching set? Our Stainless Steel Engraved Water Bowl will look great along side the food bowl. They are both made from the highest quality stainless steel and both can be engraved on the inside. The water bowl will be in the Related Products once you add the food bowl to your cart.

High-Quality Engraving

Each bowl is personalized with your dog's name done in your choice of 13 fonts. Our laser engraving is done with high-quality commercial lasers for a durable and precise engraved product. We guarantee the quality of our engraving for the life of your pet.

Product Features:

  • 3-quart bowl size (2.5 qt volume, due to inner dome) - 1 lb

We have been feeding our puppy his meals on a cookie sheet...figure it's time to get him a big boy bowl that hopefully slows his eating down! #fingerscrossed

Was recommended by my golden retriever's breeder, a trusted knowledgable source. She sent me the link for this bowl and highly suggested I order two one for food and one for water for my 3 year old golden. I ordered another also for my speedy 8 year old too.

We're getting a Labrador Retriever and needed a slow feeder bowl. I like the clean look of the bowl and the fact it could be personalized.

The "boys", Bo and Cooper have been eating out of a slow feeder made of plastic for six years now. The slow feeder bowl does help, especially Cooper, who doesn't chew much and mostly inhales his food. I was so thrilled when I found out DogIDs now carries a stainless steel one. AND with the choice of having the name engraved! Pawsome!

Had a costly accident with a ceramic bowl and that is not happening again. This metal bowl was exactly what I was looking for as a replacement.

Why wouldn’t you have an option for a smaller bowl? Many people have small dogs who would love to buy this but can’t because it’s huge. Real let down.
A shopper on Oct 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer this bowl in a smaller size as the manufacturer we get these bowls from does not have a smaller size than this. We would love to be able to offer a smaller size as well - we unfortunately, do not have the option to even add a smaller option.
would this bowl be good for a Rottweiler?
A shopper on May 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This bowl is great for any medium to large size dogs
Can a Pitt bull get nose/mouth in to eat? Some I've seen are so thin only a greyhound or an ant eater can current slo feed bowl is different but also my 5mo old Pitt bull can't hardly get food out like he's having to use his tongue only. He needs slo feed but not that extreme!! Haha
Jenifer S on Jul 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The entire diameter of the bowl measures at 10 inches. The dome in the middle is about 4-5 inches. At the top of the dome, if you measure from the edge of the bowl to the dome it is about 1.5 - 2 inches. I asked around and we've got a Yellow Lab who can eat out of the Not So Fast bowl with no problem, however, we also have Great Dane in the office who has a little more trouble eating from it - if that can put it into perspective a little more.
Does the showcased elevated stand come with the bowl? or is it sold separately?
Also what are the dimensions of the bowl exactly.
Charles M on Feb 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The stand is sold separately. The bowl diameter is 10 in from edge to edge.
What are the dimensions of the bowl? Diameter minus the lip? How am I supposed to know if this bowl will fit in my existing feeder if you don't provide dimensions?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Diameter including lip is 10 inches, so the feeder diameter should be about 9 inches. Chuck B. Staff

What country is this bowl made in?
Arlene M on Feb 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The stainless steel bowls are made in India. The engraving is done in Fargo, ND

How high does the bowl measure? Could it be used for my cat? Also, is the stainless steel bowl made in America? Thx!
Beverley S on Jan 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The bowl is about 3 inches high off of the ground. It is not made in the USA.
This product came up in a search on "stainless steel dog bowls made in USA", but I don't see Made in the USA information in the description. Can you tell me the country of origin?
Mary Ann T on Jan 4, 2015
The bowls and elevated bowls on our site are not made in the USA. You may have found our site because most of our products are Made in the USA, but those would only be in our Made is USA category, or that feature would be listed on the product page.

This is a well made bowl and does slowdown fast eaters.
However, it is best used with a long snout dog. Airedales have too broad of a mouth and nose and they can't get to the food. My bitch

just dumped the bowl and ate her dinner.

Great feeding dish to slow a dog down - attractive being monogramed. Made a wonderful Christmas present and the owner of the dog I gave it too was very appreciative and loved the bowl.

The product is solid and well made, and would work especially well for larger dog breeds with longer snouts. I would definitely recommend the product in general.
We have a pug that likes to eat fast and this bowl was too deep/narrow for her to get at all of the food. Our yorkshire terrier also had a bit of a problem cleaning her bowl with this design. However, we just turned them over and use them upside down and the dogs are perfectly happy.

Works well for dogs with long, thin muzzles. I purchased two and only one of my dogs could really get down into his food (they eat raw so it sticks pretty good to the bottom). It works really well for the dog who uses it - it has slowed him down that it takes him at least twice as long to eat each meal now.
The raised center is a little wide for some dogs to be able to get their muzzles down in to the bowl to reach the food. It's also rather large - will not fit in our standard 2 quart bowl stands - needed to buy a stand to hold it (for 3 quart bowls).

Should of paid attention
I should have paid attention to the reviews that said the bowl was narrow for large muzzles. My Goldendoodle could hardly get her nose or mouth in the area where the food was. It's now setting on a shelf and I am back to using her old bowl. Also the inside had been polished to a dull metal instead of the bright polish of the outside and center. Sort of smelled metallic so thought that might affect the taste of the food. I guess we live and learn. If you have a large dog I do not recommend this item.

Not so fast bowl
I would recommend this bowl to any pet owner who has a dog that eats too fast. We had a plastic one, but our dog chewed that one up so I was glad to find this one made out of a chew-proof material. The personalization adds an extra special touch.
