We believe this could very well be the technology of the future when it comes to dog identification. Our ScruffTag Collar with a FREE unique engraved QR code and PetHub Link profile web page offer you the ability to keep up to date information on your dog without ever changing ID tags. As you know it can be a huge problem if your information on your dog's collar is outdated. This technology solves this problem by offering you a free profile page on the PetHub network that you can update with any information you'd like (New address, New Number, Alternative Contacts, Medical info, etc.). Your dog will have his or her very own webpage that people will be directed to just by scanning your dog's unique QR code with a smartphone! Easy, convenient, high tech, practical and SAFE!
Our ScruffTag Collars are perfect for identifying your dog and very easy to scan with a smartphone since the ScruffTag always sits right on the scruff (back) of your dog's neck. Whoever finds your dog does not have to worry about reaching under your dog's jowls to find the ID tag and situate the tag to scan...Just aim a smartphone right at the back of your dog's neck and scan the QR code...Can't get any easier and requires no physical contact with the found dog!
Optionally include your phone number & pet's name to be engraved on the collar so whoever finds your dog can immediately call you and know your dog's name. When the collar arrives, it includes a free unique web address and PetHub Link QR code that can be scanned with any Smartphone (such as Apple iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, and others).
Here's how it works: Someone finds your pet. They try the phone number and you're not answering. They scan the collar with their phone or type in the web address. What shows up on their smartphone screen are any details you've chosen to enter about your pet, including other emergency contacts (spouse, neighbor, friend, vet, pet sitter, doggie daycare, etc.), important medications, dietary needs, and anything else you think someone rescuing your pup or kitty needs to know.
Here's why it's cool: Because the QR code and web address are both pointing to your dog's own free PetHub Link profile web page on PetHub.com, you can change important details (contacts, medications, etc.) as often as you like without requiring the physical tag to be updated! Free web page for my dog? Yes! When someone scans your dog's QR code they are taken directly to your dog's very own free profile page...Displayed right on their smart phone screen! How cool is that? Also, when someone scans your pet's QR code, you will be notified via email and if they have GPS enabled on their smartphone, you will receive a GPS location map of where the scan occurred. Very, very cool!
Remember, the data stored about your pet on PetHub.com that these collars point to is free (no weird hidden costs, no sign-up fees, no annual fees for the basic storage and linking to your PetHub Link collar or tag). When we ship you your dog's QR Code ScruffTag Collar, we include simple instructions in the package with a few step by step instructions to set up your dog's free membership and profile web page...VERY, VERY easy to do and can be done directly from a smartphone or PC browser.

A shopper asked:My biggest concern is the quality of the material that the QR code is printed on. If either of those tiny pieces attaching the collar to the tag were to break, the collar is useless. Is this part guaranteed as well?Jan 24, 2012
Meredeth G asked:I purchased 2 QR Code ScruffTag collars. When I attempted to register to the included web address, I received a response of "no results showing". Where do I register my pet's profile?Sep 22, 2011
Chuck BStaff:Yes, we include registration information with each tag. The infomration on the website can be updated when ever there is a change in the owners or pets information. Chuck B. StaffSep 9, 2011

Dustin H:We use a state of the art engraver and guaranteed the engraving for the life of your pet. However, it is very unlikely you'll ever have the engraving wear off. Also important to note that these qr codes can still function if a portion of the code is scratched or damaged.Aug 3, 2011
Chuck BStaff:The collar is made of a durable product called Polypropylene or polypropene (PP) is a thermoplastic polymer, made by the chemical industry and used in a wide variety of applications, including packaging, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, and polymer banknotes. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.
Because of its rugged yet soft feel, polypropylene rope is our preferred material for collars and leads. It is also very resistant to fading, odor and UV deterioration. The polypropylene rope used in Mendota Products' collars and leads is a long lasting, durable yet comfortable feeling material. We guarantee the engraving for the life of your pet as well. Chuck B. StaffSep 29, 2011
Clint HStaff:These are high quality collars made of polypropylene webbing...Very tough material yet soft to the touch. The nameplates are deeply etched so very hard to destroy by your dog by scratching at it, etc. We've yet to receive one of these collars back for dog induced damage. It is possible that another dog could chew on it and damage the collar or tag however if they have a strong bite.Sep 29, 2011
Lori N:The tag is pretty sturdy and is located at the top of the collar - opposite the buckle. The code and text are really heavy duty. Based on location, I don't think the dog could do much damage. We've only had ours for a few days, but so far so good!Sep 29, 2011
