dogIDs PetHub QR Code Pet Tags & Collars

We believe this could very well be the technology of the future when it comes to dog tags. These slide on dog tags with free engraved PetHub Link QR code offer you the ability to keep up to date information on your dog. As you know it can be a huge problem if your information on your dogs collar is outdated. This technology solves this problem by offering you a profile page that you can update with any information you'd like (New address, New Number, Alternative Contacts, Medical info, ect..)

Optionally include your phone number & pet's name. When the collar arrives it includes a unique web address and QR code that can be scanned with any Smartphone (such as Apple iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, and others).

Here's how it works: someone finds your pet. They try the phone number and you're not answering. They scan the collar with their phone or type in the web address. What shows-up are any details you've chosen to enter about your pet, including other emergency contacts (spouse, neighbor, friend, vet, pet sitter, doggie daycare, etc.), important medications, dietary needs, and anything else you think someone rescuing your pup or kitty needs to know.

Here's why it's cool: because the QR code and web address are both pointing to a free PetHub Link profile about your pet on PetHub.com, you can change important details (contacts, medications, etc.) as often as you like without requiring the physical tag to be updated! (Yes.. in case you're wondering.. that is cool. Nay, SUPER cool!) Also, when someone scans your pet's QR code, you will be notified via email and if they have GPS enabled on their smartphone, you will receive a GPS location map of where the scan occurred. Very, very cool!

Remember, the data stored about your pet on PetHub.com that these collars point to is free (no weird hidden costs, no sign-up fees, no annual fees for the basic storage and linking to your PetHub Link collar or tag).

*The collar must have one strap available without a buckle or hardware that will interfere with the tag sliding on. Simply insert the collar strap into one hole, run it behind the tag and out the other hole. It's that easy to install.

QUESTION: Im looking for an orange collar to fit the 3/4" one. What do you suggest? by Cindy M 3/26/2012
STAFF ANSWER: I would suggest you look at our collars with the build in tags which come in the color orange. ID850-884 is a nylon web collar and MP33001QR-33408QR is a braided nylon collar. a third option would be MP320N-322N, another braided collar. The collar you select will need to have one end open, as snap collar will not work with these tags unless you get them from our site, made to order. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 3/27/2012
QUESTION: I have a small Yorkie. Is the 3/4" the smallest it comes in? by Cindy M 3/25/2012
STAFF ANSWER: Yes, at this time we only have slider tags in 1 inch and 3/4 inch sizes. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 3/27/2012

REPLY: I have my own website, and have set up my dog with her own profile page...can I send you the URL and you make QR code from that? by Teena H 1/17/2012
STAFF REPLY: I don see any harm in doing this if it is just for your private website. Go ahead and provide your url. by Dustin H 1/17/2012
QUESTION: I have a tea cup Yorkie Terrier that wear a 1/2 " thick collar. Do you sell any QR Code Slide-On Dog ID tag that fits this criteria thanks. by Amilcar F 1/12/2012
STAFF ANSWER: We don't have anything right now that would fit this collar correctly, but we may in the future. by Dustin H 1/13/2012
ANSWER: In addition: my collar is a leather Kakadu Pet 5th Avenue Collar 1/2" x 13 3/4". If you could Google it and tell me if I will have the same problems as other clients had from the reviews I've read.

QUESTION: I just purchased this product and there's no directions to how it fits on my dog's collar. How does this work? by Luciano C 1/9/2012
STAFF ANSWER: The collar has to have an open end that you can slide it on to. If there is a buckle or something restricting it from sliding on it won't fit. by Dustin H 1/13/2012
QUESTION: Will I be able to put this on a harness? by Lora K 1/8/2012
ANSWER: With the harnesses I have for my dogs, I don't think so. The straps on the harness wouldn't be able to have anything on the ends, and my harnesses have the clips on each side that hook together. The harness would have to hook together like a regular belt buckle, and I haven't really seen that in a harness. With that said, I think if you got a little creative, and were a bit determined, you might be able to attach it. I undid the stitching on my dogs' work collars and sewed the tags in place with some heavy duty thread. I can't interchange them to a different collar, but I just bought two for each dog. That way, one permanently stays on their work collars and the other one goes with their regular collars. by Claudia L 1/10/2012
ANSWER: No. In fact, you cannot put it on just any leash...unless you purchase collar when you by tag, you can only put it on collars that buckle rather than those with a plastic / click on closure. Kind of a bummer. by Pamm P 1/10/2012
    ANSWER: Lora,
I bought this tag for my dog's collar- the openings are not large enough for the buckle to fit through....so, you will probably not be able to slide the harness buckle through the openings.... We ended up sewing on our tag to the collar... that didn't last for long, so I do not reccommend this product! by Sara B 1/10/2012
    ANSWER: Lora

I purchased these for my dogs and had to modify them to get them to work. As designed, they will not work on most collars with fixed plastic snap together fasteners - since the plastic ends are permanently fastened onto the nylon webbing there is no place to slip these tags on. I imagine this is probably how your harness is designed. These tags are only meant to work on older buckle type collars that have a plain nylon end with holes in it.

However, I 'modified' these by snipping the ends with tin snips, slightly bending the ends and slipping them over the nylon harness then bending back in place, and covering the snip with electrical tape. I would ONLY recommend doing this if you have a location on your harness that has the nylon strap doubled up usually in the adjustment area of the harness as you would not want the cut ends to bend and poke your dogs skin.

I would either recommend a traditional tag for a harness OR buy one of the collars with this type of tag built in. by Jesse W 1/9/2012
QUESTION: Clint H gives the url for the collars that work, but it shows all the collars. How can I tell which of your collars have the open end It doesn't say in the collar descriptions and I can't tell for sure from the pictures. by None N 11/20/2011
STAFF ANSWER: The collars with open end have a traditional buckle with a post and holes in the strap. If the collar has a snap style buckle the slider tags would not work. Most of the leather collars, braided collars will work. You can check with service@dogids.com if you have a specific collar in mind. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 11/22/2011
QUESTION: The drop-down list for colors lists red, but the picture shows pink. Is the pink available? by None N 11/8/2011
STAFF ANSWER: Yes, pink is now available again. by Clint H 11/24/2011
QUESTION: If I lose this tag or buy a different size collar, can I have a new one made with the same barcode on it? by j c 11/1/2011
STAFF ANSWER: Yes, if you still have the tag with the code, including the number underneath the code, we can engrave the QR code again. Chuck B. Staff by Chuck B 11/2/2011
QUESTION: So I ordered this product just the tag itself and I need to order a collar that it attaches to. I can't seem to find it anywhere Thanks! by Peter S 9/23/2011

COMMENT: I am wanting to get rid of all dangling items from my dog's collar, but still keep her identified. Pet Hub offers a slide on name tag that also has a smart phone scan- able inscription. If someone wants to try and steal my dog, they may get curious with their smart phone, and bingo.....got em! My dog is also micro chipped, but so many people these days have smart phones. Since only vets have the scanner for reading the micro chip, this will save a trip to the vet for the canine rescuer. by Mary T 1/13/2012

COMMENT: I really love the slide on name plate, I just wanted one that I could update if needed and feel that QR tags are were things are going for information. Just one step between a name and a micro chip. They have a number, can also access additional information, and if all else fails, he is micro-chipped. I look forward to adding his city registration information to this. My dog hates dangling name tags so this is a perfect option! by Jennifer S 8/26/2011

COMMENT: I liked the fact that I could put rabies, medical, etc information on an updatable place. Even if people don't have a smart phone, they can still go to the website listed under the QR or call me. Its flat and won't jingle and its extremely obvious that she has extra information unlike the smart chip which can migrate and be overlooked. Plus, its kind of fun for my dog to be a little techie, too ^_^. Got a smaller one off the PetHub website for my cat not sold here. by Sheri S 8/7/2011
