Many dog owners will only use side release buckles because they hold extremely well when you need them to, but can be easily undone in case of emergency. This style of snap buckle is also popular with dog owners that have arthritis and other joint problems.
You can take your dog’s safety to the next level with this metal buckle, by adding engraved personalization to the female (hook end). dogIDs will engrave up to two lines of information, 15 characters per line, on the buckle.
The engraving is done using a high powered laser engraver, so the text will come out in a dark brown color on the silver buckle. We guarantee the engraving for the life of your pet!
Sturdy Materials
This side release buckle is considered a metal hybrid buckle because part of it is metal and the other part is plastic. This design is actually sturdier than all-metal buckles because there is a little more flexibility to the male end (hook) so that it can hang onto the other end of the buckle under intense pulling.
The hook or male end of the buckle is made from industrial grade gray plastic. The catch or female end of the buckle is made from durable aluminum.
