QUESTION: do these tags scratch when they hit other tags the dog is whereing? by vera a 6/2/2011
ANSWER: Not if the painted side faces away from the other tags. I recommend getting the deepest engraving possible, as a lighter engraving might be harder to read over time because of constant rubbing against other tags. by R E 6/4/2011
ANSWER: No, I have never had a problem with them scratching. I think they are pretty durable. by S T 6/3/2011
QUESTION: Does the tag scratch when it hits other tags on the dogs collars? by vera a 6/1/2011
ANSWER: No. I've purchased several for different family dogs. They are a great product. They don't scratch or chip. Colors stay beautiful. Great purchase. by G O 6/2/2011
ANSWER: I bought this tag in orange with the bone in Oct of 2009 and my dog still has it on today June 2011. The front of the tag that is painted is in perfect condition -- no scratches or chips! The back side that is engraved is a little scratchy around the edges from banging around with other tags and probably from use in general -- my dog is very active swimming, hiking, etc -- BUT the text part is OK and completely legible 1.5+ years later. This is the longest a tag has lasted in our house. I'd recommend it! by C A 6/2/2011
QUESTION: I need only 2 lines. The dogs name and phone number. Can I get it with bigger letters If not should I put the name on line 1 and phone # on line 3 or 2 and 4\ by Mohala E 3/9/2011
STAFF ANSWER: If you use only 2 lines, our engraver will center the information on the tag. We also adjust the font sizing to make the text proportional to the tag. Customers can also put a comment in the comment box at checkout such as "make the font as large as possible". Chuck B Staff by Chuck B 3/10/2011
QUESTION: Actually, two questions:
1. Do these make "plinking" sounds like metal tags when your dog moves I'm a light sleeper...
2. Which one did you get I can't decide...
Thanks! by George E 11/11/2010
STAFF ANSWER: Thanks, Clint. My wife was looking over my should as I was reading your answer and said, "Those tags look so great, we have to get one for my mom's dog for Christmas." So Bella is shortly going to be wearing the ice cream cone. by George E 12/9/2010
STAFF ANSWER: Hi George, Yes you will hear some jingling as the dog moves, especially if you have multiple tags on your dogs collar that will bounce off of each other. If you would rather not have the jingling noise, I would recommend one of the dogIDs brand slide-on or rivet-on tags or else one of our many styles of NamePlate Collars. All of these the tags at dogIDs.com are deeply laser engraved so the engraving never wears off...Guaranteed. Here are the links...
